WELCOME TO THE CLOSET MINISTRY @ FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, WARREN, OH

The Closet Ministry @ First Baptist Church Warren began in December 2010 as the fourth Closet location. Our first Free Shopping Day was help on February 26, 2011. This event brought many local churches together in an effort to support our community by suppling free clothing for anyone in need.

First Baptist Church is the oldest organized church in Warren. The church was officially organized on September 3, 1803 as the Concord Baptist Church. In 1895, upon merging with a Baptist Church from Mecca, Ohio, this congregation became known as the First Baptist Church of Warren. In 2003, the congregation celebrated its bicentennial. Our vision is to be a community of disciples of Jesus Christ who invite, equip and empower others to be His disciples. (Matthew 28:18 – 20)

In the late fall of 1798, Ephraim Quinby bought 441 acres of land from the Connecticut Land Company and named that land after Moses Warren, surveyor of the Western Reserve. Soon after the town was plotted, four acres were set aside in the center of the community to be used as the village square, and still exist as historic Courthouse Park to this day.
